For the second time in two months, a Democrat suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome tried to assassinate former President Donald J. Trump. As Clay Travis pointed out on X, imagine if two assassins tried to take out former President Barack Obama within 60 days. Wall to wall coverage. Much pundit anger. Cries of racism.

Because it’s Trump, because the Left and their allies in the media have been vilifying that man for eight years and yes, because he has the audacity to want to make America great again, the Dems and their media puppets blame him. Lester Holt, MSNBC, Dem firebrands — all sing from the same songbook. Trump caused his own assassination attempt — he’s the one who needs to tone down the rhetoric.

But the truth is, they want to eliminate him. In this election cycle alone, states tried to remove his name from the ballot, prosecutors tried to convict him of things that were not crimes, and Dems openly showed disappointment when a shooter missed his target in Butler, PA, as I wrote in an earlier post called Blood on Their Hands. This time, they ignored that only a few days before, in that infamous ABC “News” Debate, Kamala Harris called Trump the greatest threat to democracy since the Civil War.

If the positions were reversed, the agitprop news media would call that gaslighting. But to the faithful Democrat propagandists, it made all the sense in the world.

“No ears were harmed,” explained Rachel Vindman, the wife of Alexander Vindman, a witness against President Donald Trump in the 2019 impeachment trial for something that was not a crime. “Carry on with your Sunday afternoon.”

She posted this on X. Critics pounced. Before she scrubbed it, she replied, “Sorry you’re triggered.  I mean no I’m not. I don’t care a little bit. Trump has been inciting violence against his enemies for years. You cannot have it both ways.”

Really? If that were true, why have the crazies on the Right not followed the examples of the crazies on the Left and attempted to take out their political foes by lawfare, prosecution with hefty fines and assassination of character and body?

Because we just don’t roll that way.

We actually believe in elections, the rule of law, the Constitution and the American flag. We don’t take a knee for the National Anthem, we don’t believe taxpayers should pay for transgender surgeries for illegal migrants, or reparations for descendants of slaves. And we do not believe a man should compete in sports against a woman, or share a locker room, bathroom or a prison cell with her either.

We didn’t shoot at Democrat congressmen, as a Bernie Bro did in 2017, almost killing Rep. Steve Scalise and wounding four others at a Republican practice session at a baseball field in Alexandria, VA. There isn’t a single conservative actor who did a mock beheading of a bleeding severed head of Joe Biden, as Kathy Griffin did of Trump. And on Biden’s election, no one on the Red Team threatened, as Madonna did in 2017, to blow up the White House. In fact the only person killed amid protests on January 6 was Ashli Babbitt, by gunshot, at the hands of a U.S. Capitol policeman.

Our avenue to express these views is in the public square, not the morgue. And since Trump rolled down that escalator in 2015, we have created a vibrant conservative media landscape — from Breitbart.com to podcasters Megyn Kelly, Glenn Beck, Don Bongino. Granted, their reach is dwarfed by the still if dwindling power of the regime media. Today I saw several posts on X calling for us to “starve the mainstream media.”

Clearly the playing field is uneven.

Peter Navarro served as an economic adviser in Trump’s first term and just finished a prison sentence for defying a congressional subpoena (while AG Merrick Garland was not punished for the same offense). Asked about the second assassination attempt, ruminating on his experience, Navarro said, “Guns don’t kill people, journalists do.”

There is much talk today about how this happened. Was the wannabe shooter was a CIA asset? Or, given that Trump’s schedule was not public, is there a mole within the Secret Service or DHS who disclosed Trump’s whereabouts? Frightening thoughts.

But the larger question to me is how people of good faith who just want to improve America’s quality of life are now vilified by the media — and where we go from here.

On the issue of how we got here, I defer to @DThomsenCo, who posts under the heading Mountain Views and describes himself on X as “American/Pronoun Free/Mad As Hell/Non-Compliant/Unapologetic/1A/2A.” In a beautifully-written “open letter to Leftists,” he posted a string of tweets that taken together were profound.

For too long you have mistaken our TOLERANCE for weakness and it emboldened you. That TIME has come to an END. Things are going to happen FAST now and you will find yourself wondering HOW you got here. So, here’s how.

You called us RACISTS while we were standing together as WHITE, BLACK, & BROWN Americans. You overwhelmed us with images of races unable to COEXIST. Then came DEI, reparations, & constant ATTACKS for even the smallest perceived slight. You needed us DIVIDED, which was the GOAL.

We supported GAY marriage and didn’t notice the TQIA’s at first. Then you went after OUR KIDS, openly flaunted your sexuality, & made PRONOUNS a weapon. You had men competing in WOMEN’s sports and invading their private spaces. And again you demonized those that DARE push back.

You changed the NAMES of mountains, and buildings, and teams to ERASE our history. You took the pledge out of schools, knelt during the anthem, and burned our FLAG!! And did it while proudly displaying those of OTHER countries and movements. You made PATRIOT a dirty word.

Then HE came along. He was brash, RAW, but grew on US. He wanted to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN. He spoke to the helplessness we FELT. You said RUSSIA was his handler. You attacked his CHARACTER, his family. And yet, HE WON. You didn’t let us CELEBRATE though. You said he CHEATED.

So you took to the STREETS. You PROTESTED, and BURNT, and THREATENED, and ATTACKED. Our fascist response was to remain SILENT. We heard every single day that, ORANGE MAN bad. The economy was STRONG, the world was SAFE, and the WALL was going up. You couldn’t let that STAND.

The best of US finally stood & took to the STREETS. You provoked us and let us walk into that BUILDING. You killed a woman and PROSECUTED the rest. You locked us up. You CENSORED us. Made sure we couldn’t RISE. You weaponized LAW and laughed as YOU DID IT. You thought you’d WON.

We sat and watched you destroy our COUNTRY. You defunded our POLICE, allowing crime to run RAMPANT. You spent to the point we couldn’t AFFORD to live. You abandoned BASES, and EMBASSIES, and allies. You made us WEAK. Then OTHERS began to awake. So you became DESPERATE, more vile.

You convicted him of CRIMES he didn’t commit on CHARGES you couldn’t define. You tried to take his FORTUNE. Your leaders called him a THREAT and a fascist. You called him HITLER. And you DEMONIZED EACH AND EVERY ONE US. We lost friends and FAMILY. MSM spent everyday on our EVIL.

Then SHOTS rang out. YOU NEARLY KILLED HIM. But the man ROSE. He lifted his FIST in the air and told us to FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT. This selfish, HATEFUL, ugly man nearly gave all to save a COUNTRY he LOVES. And we’d been afraid to wear a RED HAT? Our eyes teared with ANGER, respect.

He withstood all you could MUSTER. And in doing so, he EMPOWERED us. And so now you see, the REAL men and REAL women are coming to take our COUNTRY back. We won’t be SILENCED, we can’t be STOPPED. You will watch as every ounce of POWER you once held is returned to the PEOPLE.

We will restore LAW AND ORDER and ILLEGALS will be shown the door. WE will retake our SCHOOLS, our cities, and our STATES. The minority will NO LONGER dictate to a once silent MAJORITY. We the PEOPLE of the United States of America LOVE this man and country. We will and are MAGA!

Last month I was in Washington, DC for the Moms for Liberty Summit. As I wrote then, walking in was like landing in a foreign country where everyone spoke my language, shared my values, and had no thoughts of canceling my speech. And the subtext of the whole conference was that we have to stop whispering, we have to stop hiding under the radar, we have to stand up and declare. This is our 1776.

Trump is in his Never Surrender mode. He called Democrats “the enemy within,” a cabal trying to destroy our country. And he trolled them, as only he can.

There’s only one way forward. Trump calls it Too Big to Rig. I call it Swamp the Swamp. He has to win both the Electoral College and the popular vote — rolling up numbers in blue states like California and New York, banking huge margins in red states. It has to be an epic landslide. Even then they will try to call it something else.

As history buffs know, Patrick Henry one of the Founding Fathers, the first governor of Virginia. A gifted orator, his rousing speeches included a 1775 call to Revolution in which he shouted, “Give me liberty, or give me death!” An outspoken Anti-Federalist, he opposed the U.S. Constitution on grounds it gave too much power to the central government. He recommended against its ratification unless a Bill of Rights was added, guaranteeing personal freedoms against the power of the federal government.
