Have you noticed that lately, whenever Far Left activists, their government sponsors or their media allies are caught in a lie, they double down on their falsehoods?
The latest offender was Claudine Gay, the $900,000-a-year Harvard President who chose to resign under pressure after multiple examples of her plagiarism were dug up by investigative reporters like Aaron Sibarium of the Washington Beacon, and because she appeared before a congressional committee claiming that campus calls for the genocide of the Jews might or might not be hate speech, depending on the context.
In her resignation letter, Gay made no mention of anti-Semitism — not one word — but instead blamed the whole thing on “threats fueled by racial animus.” No apology for allowing hate speech to fester in Cambridge. No mea culpa for her 50 discovered (so far) instances of plagiarism. CNN assured viewers her mistake wasn’t really plagiarism, it was merely lifting words from another scholar without proper citation. It wasn’t like she stole their ideas or something! Please, CNN, get a dictionary.
But in pinning her departure on racial animus, Gay was proving the case against her: the elevation of Claudine Gay to presidency of Harvard was the crown jewel in the Far Left’s effort to impose Critical Race Theory on the curriculum. Students were diligently taught — across the disciplines — that whites were oppressors and people of color were oppressed, perpetually. The board fought to keep her because her dismissal was stark proof of CRT’s hypocrisy. It was all a lie, rooted in Marxism.
And, as Tom Slater, editor of spiked.com noted, there is a direct line between DEI and anti-Semitism. “A world divided between ‘oppressor’ and ‘oppressed’; between ‘privileged’ whites and brutalized black and brown people, had given a green light to the world’s oldest hatred. To a new form of anti-Semitism that cast Jews as the ‘hyper-white’ oppressors of the Palestinians and Palestinians as perennial victims – even if the Palestinians in question were Islamist maniacs murdering innocent Jews.”
This insistence on racial identity — instead of Martin Luther King’s creed of an America where we are all judged by the content of our character instead of the color of our skin — has torn our society to shreds even as it has left a new generation without skills, knowledge or critical thinking. The poster child for DEI, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (or as Sean Ono Lennon recently called it, “Dumb, Evil, Idiots”), Gay returns to her extraordinary salary for teaching a narrative that students of color are defined by their ancestors’ history as slaves and as victims of segregation. This refusal to see America as an aspirational nation is likely to make her famous among the socialist glitterati who will offer her speeches, honorary posts and many awards.
Even bigger than the Far Left’s lie of systematic racism is its campaign to keep Donald Trump, the leading candidate for president in either party, off the ballot. Pushed by courts and secretaries of State in blue states, this “lawfare” tactic claims that Jan 6 was an insurrection, one that disqualifies Donald Trump, the Leading Insurrectionist, from the ballot, under Section 14 Article 3 of the US Constitution.
Jan 6 may have been a riot. As Rep. Clayton Higgins suggested in an interview with Tucker Carlson, it may have been a trap by FBI assets parading as Trump supporters. But it was not an insurrection, not an attempt to overthrow the US government. Mostly, it was Americans protesting an election they thought rigged. As Epoch Times reports in its newest documentary, The Long Road Home, the DOJ responded with the largest manhunt in U.S. history. So far, more 1,200 people have been arrested. Many were held in solitary confinement. Others have not yet had a trial. Three years later, the FBI is still making arrests. Remind me, were their any FBI arrests after Antifa rioters burned down buildings Minneapolis and Portland? This is the same FBI still targeting parents, Catholics and pro-life activists as terrorists. As Alice in Wonderful might observe, curiouser and curiouser. In fact, two-tiered justice is no justice at all.
All these radical Dem efforts to banish Trump from the ballot are off to the Supreme Court. Legal scholar Jonathan Turley hopes the effort will be overturned. The 14th Amendment, enacted after the Civil War, was meant to keep Alexander Stephens, vice president of the Confederacy, away from public office, on grounds that he swore to uphold the US Constitution before the war and abandoned his principles afterward, seeking new office. The amendment mentions “officers,” not presidents.
But as if on queue, Democrats are doubling down. Now they are trying to disqualify 126 Republican colleagues on the same sweeping theory, as insurrectionists. As Turley suggests, unless the Supreme Court rejects these ballot-cleansing efforts 9-0, they will surely lead to political crisis. Up will be down, right will be wrong, and hypocrites like Jamie Raskin will rationalize that this is an example of pure democracy. At least he will until states like Florida disqualify President Biden from the ballot, for treason, for abetting invasion at the border, in violation of his oath of office to protect the nation.
But the remarkable thing is that for all the media hype against Trump, and worries about civil war, and the moral collapse of the universities, conservatives seem to be winning on the issues. The good common sense of the American people is rising. Those cultural issues that have distorted this nation seem to be losing steam.
Consider:
In Philadelphia, the police department fired its DEI officer before the new mayor and new police commissioner were sworn in, promising a return of “lawfulness.”
In Miami, Florida’s biggest teachers union may be decertified after an audit found that fewer than 60% of its members are dues-paying.
And in Berkley, a three-judge panel of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals struck down the city’s ban on natural gas — ruling with the California Restaurant Assn. and against the Biden administration. A victory for gas stoves.
But the startling development that makes me think we might yet restore this nation as a nation of ambition — the ultimate rebuttal of DEI and Critical Race Theory — is the reaction by voters of color to the dumpster fire that is the Biden administration.
In Chicago, black citizens are raging against the “sanctuary city” for emptying the city coffers to pay for new migrant needs ahead of black voters, historically the most loyal Democrats. Windy City resident Mark Carter accused the mayor and city council — who have shifted $138 million to NGOs caring for the migrants — of trying to “do away” with black voters. “And so we’re going to do away with them.” Added Cata Truss, “You can’t keep doing the same old thing and expecting a different outcome … It’s time to turn Chicago red.”
In Detroit, Arab citizens are protesting schools for sexualizing their children and encouraging gender dysphoria, and angry at the Biden administration for siding with Israel in its war against Hamas. Adam Abusalah, a 22-year-old former congressional staffer with Rep. Shri Thanedar who worked on Biden's campaign in 2020, told Axios he will leave the top of the ticket blank in 2024. “My community helped get Biden elected in Michigan. We thought he would lead with compassion and humanity and clearly I was wrong.”
In entertainment, rappers and BLM activists are rallying to Trump. Mark Fisher, co-founder of Black Lives Matter Rhode Island and founder of BLM Incorporated, recently endorsed Trump saying, “Everybody else sucks.”
For almost a century, the black community has been the most loyal constitutents of the Democratic Party. Once a stalwart part of Republican Abraham Lincoln’s team, they switched in vast numbers after FDR began a series of programs to lift the nation out of the Great Depression. And they stayed with Dems as LBJ enacted the New Society that has had the unintended effect of splintering black families and banishing black fathers in the name of a welfare check. If Dems lose a large contingent of this cohort, they could lose. But then, I guess, they could just arrest Trump again.
Stay strong. Pray for this nation, and its principles. The Founders are cheering for us.
Amen! Just remember we far out number the elites that hate this country. hate our Republican and hate Capitalism! Please stand and fight as your station and your circumstances allow!
