By any measure, we are in trouble. Inflation is shredding our economy.
The U.S. business sector is in a slump, slowing for the fourth straight month in October. Even more alarming, the pace of the deterioration has picked up. The farm economy, primary source for our food, is also shrinking, five months in a row. And stock market losses have pummeled retirement accounts — by $3 trillion.
Now comes word that the US has only a 25-day supply of diesel left in its tanks. Trucks and trains run on diesel. If more supplies do not come in, our economy will crater, and residents all over New England will freeze. So, a month to Armageddon.
But Joe Biden blithely continues to lie, eating an ice cream cone while declaring the economy is “strong as hell,” depleting our Strategic Petroleum Reserve while insisting he’s not playing politics with our energy future. Marie Antoinette could not have choreographed it better. “Let Them Eat Cake” has devolved into “Let Them Not Eat.”
The thing about Dems is they seem to think they can mask their catastrophic policies with better messaging, sometimes known as “Believe Me, Not Your Lying Eyes.”
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said that if voters raise concerns about inflation, Dem candidates should just change the topic! White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain may or may not be actually running the country (“I definitely get more done when he’s not here,” he once bragged to Politico) but he is clearly in charge of cheerleading, calling Biden “a transformational president with historic achievements.” Historic, maybe. But can you think of one thing Biden’s done in two years that has made our lives better?
House Whip James Clyburn, who crowned Biden president in 2020 by throwing him African-American votes, said the quiet part out loud the other day. “All of us knew,” said Clyburn, who voted for Biden's $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan and $738 billion Inflation Reduction Act. “You put more money into the economy, prices tend to rise.” A bit tame to say “tend to rise,” when inflation is crushing us, but point taken.
You and I are collateral damage — victims of what socialist Pete Bootigieg calls a “transition” to a green nirvana. He is okay with policies that deliberately make us poorer so that we lose our homes, our jobs, our way of life — and become wards of the federal government. Sometimes I wonder if they are actually okay with killing us.
Consider:
Big cities are reeling from a spike in murders, burglaries, rapes, assaults. It’s as if the civility that once guided life in this country has been stripped away by evil. Criminals who should be locked up are released without consequences, often to commit crimes again, the homeless are allowed to set up tent cities on public streets, which become open air drug markets, all in the name of social justice reform, that catch-phrase from the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests that Dems still saltue. Meanwhile victims of crime — their lives ended or bodies scarred for life — are left without a voice. Yet when asked about their policies — the Defund the Police movement and cashless bail systems and DAs who don’t enforce the law — Dems channel amnesia. They also show the real lack of empathy that defines their “Rules For Me, Not Thee” worldview. Asked about crime, NY Gov Kathy Hochul blamed the media, saying a few “high-profile” cases are creating “a sense of fear.” During her debate with challenger Lee Zeldin, a Republican congressman, he pounded her failure to remove Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg for releasing hardened criminals back in the streets. “I don't know why that's so important to you,” she said. Hopefully voters will explain it to her at the polls.
Biden has demonized politics. Abetted by a compliant regime media, he has made it open season on killing, maiming or harassing Republicans. On the stage of Independence Hall in Philadelphia — site of the birth of our Constitution — a president of the United States declared war on “MAGA Republicans.” He accused them of “an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic,” tagging them as “semi-fascists.” If ever there was a dog whistle, this was it. And his supporters took note. In North Dakota, Cayler Ellingson, an 18-year-old, was killed by a 41-year-old driver who later told police he killed the teenager because was a Republican. In Grand Rapids, Michigan, Joan Jacobson, an 84-year-old volunteer for Right to Life, was shot in the shoulder while distributing pro-life pamphlets door to door. In the Miami area, a canvasser for Sen Marco Rubio was brutally attacked. Wearing a T-shirt for Rubio and a hat for Florida Gov Ron DeSantis, Christopher Monzon was pummeled by four men who yelled that Republicans were not welcome in their neighborhood. Monzon “suffered internal bleeding, a broken jaw and will need facial reconstructive surgery,” said Rubio.
If there is a worse crime than mutilating our children, it’s hard to imagine. The Far Left campaign to “trans the kids,” is ablaze as a cultural trend. Drag Queen shows for children, pronouns other than those assigned at birth and sex-obsessed teachers who groom children to change their genders while keeping parents at bay — all have turned our schools into centers of depravity, school libraries into zones of pornography. Coupled with Critical Race Theory, which teaches white children they are privileged oppressors and children of color they are perpetual victims, the pressure on white boys and girls to become trans is enormous. Anyone who fights the sexualization and indoctrination of young people is assailed as transphobic — even the growing force, GaysAgainst Groomers. The latest outrage I saw is that activists are now trying to convince autistic kids they are trans. The culpability of the medical “profession” in abetting this teenage angst — with puberty blockers, hysterectomies for girls and chemical castration for boys — is shocking. Unless, of course, they mean to sterilize a generation.
The failed green agenda is destroying our worldwide economic prosperity. As fossil fuels are the basis of everything — including electric cars — it is hard to see the advantage of destroying them. But to the Left, this is the ultimate virtue signal. It doesn’t matter if their plan devastates farming, if food shortages result, if gas prices escalate, if people go without food or heat, it is all part of the “transition” to a fuel-free planet. The Greens remind me of the Malthusiasns, followers of English scholar Thomas Robert Malthus, who predicted in 1798 that the population would outpace the world’s ability to produce food. They believed that natural disasters and man-made wars would naturally correct the imbalance, killing off enough people so the rest could eat. What actually happened is the Industrial Revolution, which exploded agriculture’s ability to feed the planet — and workers’ ability to pay for it. These days, globalists are trying to indoctrinate a new generation into an agenda of eliminating fertilizer, farmers, meat-based food and anything whose emissions would negatively affect the planet. Why they are targeting the food supply can only be understood if you appreciate that they — and their allies in Biden’s White House — are eager to cull the herd of humans.
Perhaps the most lethal Dem policy of all is the mania to prescribe COVID shots for young people. There is no evidence vaccines will help them, considerable data that it will hurt them, and irrefutable proof that this corrupt bribe will line the pockets of BigPharma. Here is malpractice if ever it existed. After everything we know about the harm these shots did to millions of people — data-driven, science-vetted information about vaccine injuries and deaths — it is unconscionable that governments would even recommend it. How many headlines do we need about the sudden death of a healthy 18-year-old athlete from a heart attack to realize that the mRNA shots can cause myocarditis? Really, we don’t need any more examples of middle-aged people dying after a booster shot to say, “Enough!” Of all the heartless policies designed by a world gone cavalier about life — more crime, killing political enemies, less food, sexualizing young people — this is the worst, for it is made not in the name of virtue but of profit. Shame.
Public schools are failing, gas prices are soaring, food costs are spiking, but all Dems want to discuss is their right to kill babies in the womb — even at nine months. Rational alternatives — such as a 15-week window for mothers to make a decision about carrying their child to term — are dismissed. Georgia Dem Stacey Abrams even touted abortion as a cure for inflation. They stalk the homes of Supreme Court justices and firebomb pregnancy centers with impunity, thanks to a hands-off policy by feckless US Atty Gen Merrick Garland, even as his FBI arrests pro-life Catholic activists who pray at abortion clinics. They trumpet “My Body, My Choice” for themselves, but not for those who resisted a vaccine that has proven unsafe and ineffective. Meanwhile the White House has been utterly inept at solving the baby formula shortage to keep babies alive. “Wake up!” begged one mom. As Dr. Mehmet Oz said, in Biden’s America, it’s easier to get Fentanyl — pouring across our open southern border — than baby formula.
In 2021, Congress enacted $128 billion in pandemic relief package for K-12 education — nearly $2,500 per student nationwide, with higher totals in high-poverty districts. Presumably this was to help bridge the gap to remote learning. Or maybe it was to build lots of plexiglass dividers for teachers afraid of returning to the classroom. In any event, the results have just been released and they are catastrophic. The Nation’s Report Card saw the biggest decrease ever in math scores, and reading scores for 4th and 8th grades at their lowest levels since 1992. States, like Florida, that shut down only briefly, did better. Those that embraced long lockdown, like Michigan, did worse.
But during a debate this week, Dem Michigan Gov Gretchen Whitmer — who would not say whether she would ban pornography in public libraries — claimed she only shut down the schools for three months. Whitmer was fudging, claimed her rival, Republican Tudor Dixon. “She changed over to the Department of Health and Human Services and forced them to close down schools,” said Dixon. And the last time I checked, they do report to the governor's office.”
Turns out there’s a lot on the ballot in November. Your vote can save a nation.
Another excellent article, Johanna! If I had one wish during this midterm election, I'd wish all votes be counted without democratic corruption like we saw in the 2020 election. Anyone paying attention understands a wave of republican/conservative votes is on the way--let us pray a fair election is in the offing. To me, the canary in the coal mine is the outcome of the election for Senator in PA. If PA elects Fedder-woman (as he calls himself) over Mement Oz then the canary is dead and the evil corruption we saw in PA during the 2020 election has won the day. God Help us all!
