Make America Healthy Again

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s decision to endorse former President Trump is a gift for the country, and for all Americans who believe that as long as we agree on core issues — ending war in Ukraine, fighting censorship and protecting children’s health — we can agree to disagree on the rest. On hearing this appeal to consensus, Team Biden-Harris immediately withdrew Kennedy’s Secret Service protection. Because there is nothing more dangerous to Dems than the idea of national unity around shared values.

If that were not threatening enough to the Harris campaign, something else happened in that glorious moment that suggests a sea change in our politics.

RFK Jr. was greeted as a rock star on stage at the Trump rally in Glendale AZ Friday night. And when he said he wants to focus on getting toxins and chemicals and sugars out of our food, to rid regulatory agencies of corporate corruption, in short. to Make America Healthy, cheers from the MAGA crowd were thunderous.

Trump had already turned the GOP into a party of the working and middle class, no longer the champion of the wealthy oligarchs who rule Wall Street and board rooms across the country. Dems now parade Barack and Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey as their super heroes, among the wealthiest people in the country. They make clear whenever they can their disdain for the rest of us — calling us deplorable, irredeemable, even, as Harris VP Tim Walz would put it, “weird.” They have never made any effort to understand us, except perhaps to read Trump VP JD Vance’s epic Hillbilly Elegy, about his journey from Appalachian poverty to tech entreprenuership.

Worse, Dem policies hurt us — stealing money fom our Social Security and Medicare benefits to fund her socialist dreams. These days Harris never mentions it but the DNC platform proposes capital gains on unrealized assets, devaluing our homes.

This switch of allegiances — GOP now the party of everyday people, Dems now the party of the uber wealthy — represents an enormous political shift.

And so does a Republican crowd cheering to dismantle federal agencies who accept campaign cash from Big Pharma, Big Ag and Big Tech, all in on saving the kids.

Once, Dems protected free speech — the ACLU defended the right of neo-Nazis to march through the Jewish enclave of Skokie, Illinois.

Now, conservatives trumpet free speech while Dems and their allies in the media censor anyone whose opinion differs from their own narrative.

Led by Biden and now Harris, they spew venom against MAGA Republicans while frothing at the mouth — as if rooting to Make America Great Again were a sin. They salute their new Woke flags — gender ideology, DEI, Critical Race Theory, mandates, lockdowns and masks — all while brazenly lying about Trump’s record and statements to hide these culturally divisive goals. And thanks to a complicit media, they get away with their lies. Ignore what you see, they suggest. Believe our angry accusations.

This is a profound transformation of the parties, a swapping of places.

And something tells me Trump’s not done yet. Today Tulsi Gabbard, another common sense Democrat who served in the military, spoke at a National Guard Association Conference and endorsed Trump as a president who did not start any wars.

Also today, Trump — not Biden, who was at the beach, and not Harris, who had nothing on her schedule — laid a wreath at Arlington National Cemetery for the 13 soldiers killed in Afghanistan three years ago in that disastrous withdrawal. Harris has said she was the last person in the room for that decision. She’s proud of it.

Last week, after long talks, Trump told RFK that improving the health of our country — where currently 60% of children have chronic, preventable illnesses like Type 2 diabetes or asthma — will be his legacy. Of course, he will close the border, get the economy humming again, end the war in Ukraine. But health is their new goal.

This is a different Trump. He did not have to do this — he didn’t have to leave his golf courses, be hauled into court on phony charges, face down threats of jail, withstand daily abuse from the media, take a bullet for democracy because of incompetence by the Secret Service. He believes that restoring the country’s greatness is possible.

God willing, he will have that chance.
