Crashing the Economy on Purpose?
None of this would be happening if the GOP had had the guts, back during President Trump’s first term, to repeal Obamacare.
Now, the gig is up — tax credits, maliciously extended by President Biden to pay for the unsustainable health care plan — expire in December, doubling patients’ costs. And rather than admit it was always a shell game, Dems have shut down the government — willing to rob poor Americans of their SNAP benefits, send airplanes dropping from the skies for lack of air traffic controllers, and sending pockets of the economy into recession — all to protect the Sacred Cow of their misguided policy.
Plus of course they want to re-instate all that waste and fraud that was eliminated in the Big Beautiful Bill — sex change operations in Africa, biased reporting on NPR, funding for Planned Parenthood. Plus healthcare for illegals. And what are the Republicans doing about it? Nothing. They talk their talking points, wag their fingers at the Democrats, and, for this I am grateful, insist they will not cave. Let us pray.
But sometimes I wonder if the Dems’ agenda is even more draconian. Maybe they are deliberately trying to crash the economy.
White House economic advisor Kevin Hassett says the shutdown is “far worse than we expected,” warning that the airline industry could have “at least a near-term downturn” and the job market and construction projects will suffer. And why would the Dems want that? So they could elect people like NY Mayor Zohran Mamdani to move the party on its inevitable march into Marxism.
Young people flocked to the Ugandan communist’s campaign because he was young and charming and promised them free buses, government-run grocery stores and subsidized housing. This is a generation sweating under the weight of loans for useless college degrees and priced out of the housing market. They are renters. Which makes them perfect targets for Communism — they were taught nothing in their expensive universities about Stalin or Mao or Pol Pot. They worship Che Guevara.
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, feeling AOC’s breath on his neck, has declared that he will not end the shutdown until planes fall out of the sky, killing people. Maybe we should believe him. He also said the shutdown is helping Dems politically, that it gives them leverage. And we should believe that too.
And how best to hurt Donald J. Trump? Crash his economy.
Trump understands that without codifying his Executive Orders into law — without nuking the filibuster to allow the GOP to pass Voter ID laws and ban boys in girls’ sports and ban illegal residents from voting and make English the official language of the USA — his legacy will be small next to his ambitions. But there are still a lot of RINOs on our team in the US Senate, politicians who will not, on principle, eliminate the filibuster because they still think of the Senate as a gentleman’s club.
I too was worried about lifting the filibuster — because it would allow Dems, once they claw back into power, to pack the Supreme Court, re-impose DEI on hiring and transgender soldiers in the military, and end sovereign borders.
But the stakes are bigger now then they ever were. Trump understood this perfectly when he put out a Truth Social after Mamdani’s victory, “And so it begins.”
As Elon Musk put it, “This isn’t normal political disagreement. This is a fundamental question about what kind of country we what this to be.” Two competing visions are colliding, he said. Freedom or opportunity? Assimilation or ethnic identity? Freedom, he said, gives you the best chance to improve your lives.
Ever since the pandemic, Americans have lost trust in the medical profession, their political institutions, and the biased media that pushes the establishment’s agenda.
If Congress continues to do nothing, I fear the noble experiment in self-governance that America represents could come to an end in this century.
I have a new book coming out next year in which I celebrate the promise of America that our founders bequeathed to us. It’s a historical novel in which I bring the founding fathers — and one founding mother — down from heaven to appear in a re-enactment of our 250th birthday at the National Archives in Washington DC. They have many funny encounters with 21st Century Americans and a book-long discussion about whether this is the country they meant to leave us.
The book is called Trump’s Superpower because I believe Trump’s strength is his reliance on the principles and the values of the founders, and because I also believe that if we return to God, Country and Family, the nation will be spared.
Please help me by buying a copy on Amazon. Only the hard copy is available on pre-order so far — the audible and kindle versions will drop later — but Amazon sees pre-orders as a bellwether on book sales and prints more copies. Link is here.

Yes, they want to crash the economy- it was apparent during the plandemic that they were waging war against America. It’s not about Trump, though they hate him. It’s about making us all slaves of the Global elites. They want god-like power, and in their minds they get it by stealing ours. And they also think there are too many people on the planet, so to them war, disease and death are not bugs but desirable features.
