The other day the Biden administration decided not to allow Novak Djokovic, the world’s #1 tennis player, to enter the USA for matches in California and Florida. Famously, Djokovic declined to take the COVID vaccine during the pandemic because of concerns it would compromise his health. Some suggest the CDC database indicates that 20,000 Americans died from the vaccine, and that up to one million suffered strokes, heart attacks, sudden and unexplained deaths from myocarditis. I often wonder how often the vaccine injured wish they, like Djokovic, had resisted.
But now the COVID lies are unraveling one by one, and the tenacity of the establishment in clinging to them makes clear that the response to the pandemic was never about health. It was always about political power. At the USA borders — from both Mexico and Canada — two million unlawful migrants enter without vaccination. But somehow one tennis play with a great forehand can’t visit. His visa waiver was denied not because he’s great, or even because he’s unvaccinated. The truth is that Novak Djokovic was denied entry because he defied the Establishment Narrative about COVID. And that the Far Left and their media lackeys will never allow.
“Stay in your lane!” screamed late-night comic Stephen Colbert at the Energy Department for saying it was likely the corona virus leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology. This was always the most logical explanation, far more believable than the one pushed by Dr. Anthony Fauci that the virus escaped from the Wuhan wet market in some sort of bat to human contact. Perhaps the good doctor was seeking to protect his partners in gain-of-function research in China from questions of whether the lab leak was a bioweapon. But even if the leak was an accident, Facebook and other titans of Social Media shut down any debate about it.
Why would a comedian care what the Energy Department had concluded? After all, as FBI Director Christopher Wray told Fox News, his agency had come to the same conclusion years before. But Colbert built his career on protecting the Biden White House-Legacy Media narrative about COVID. Now what the Washington Post once called “a conspiracy theory that was already debunked,” was gaining traction. So Colbert threw cold water on the new findings, as others in the media called on their favorite tool, screaming “racism” and “xenophobia” to anyone who blamed China.
Maybe it’s because Elon Musk bought Twitter, or maybe it’s because common sense — and honest science — are finally prevailing. But other lies that the media and the government told us during the pandemic are falling apart too. Take the mask.
The Cochrane Institute in Britain recently did a meta-analysis, reviewing 78 studies on mask-wearing in several countries. Its conclusion: “Wearing masks in the community probably makes little or no difference to the outcome” of COVID cases.
This conclusion, like the defeat of the wet-market theory, is intuitive. I live in South Florida, where seasonal visitors from colder climates are visiting in some numbers. I can spot them on the street, in restaurants, in church. They are clinging to their masks — even as those of us who appreciate sunshine leave our faces open to the skies. Healthier to breath air than our own CO2. From this, I conclude that mask-wearing is not about science, never was. It’s about fear. Some are still clinging to it, or signalling that they are in full support of the Left’s lockdown agenda.
But perhaps the most unsettling claim of the pandemic was the idea that natural immunity would not protect us from this deadly virus. Remember Joe Biden urging everyone to get the jab because this was “a pandemic of the unvaccinated?” This was always nonsense. Perhaps it was part of the Trump Derangement Syndrome that so distorted our civic discourse. Everything President Trump suggested — Ivermectin and Hydroxychloroquine were good treatment options, monoclonal infusions were life-savers, natural immunity would work — the media disparaged as horse manure.
Now researchers setting the record straight.
On leave from Harvard, Dr. Martin Kulldorff is a bio-statistician and epidemiologist who co-authored the Great Barrington Declaration that during the pandemic urged a more focused approach to combating COVID. Signed by almost a million infectious disease epidemiologists and public health scientists, the document warned that lockdowns would have “devastating effects on short and long-term public health,” that keeping children out of school was “a grave injustice,” and that all of this would lead to “greater excess mortality in years to come, with the working class and younger members of society carrying the heaviest burden.” How prescient, though small comfort to families of young, healthy, vaccinated athletes who are dropping dead.
During a recent round-table discussion in Congress, Kulldorf talked with Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, R-Iowa, about the failures of our COVID policies.
“The vaccine fanatics who want to vaccinate every person in this country ... even though they've already had COVID, that has undermined the trust in other vaccines ... creating enormous vaccine hesitancy,” he warned.
“So not allowing their provider or physician to determine the risk and the benefit?” asked Miller-Meeks.
“Yeah, and also people themselves, because people know about immunity. We learned that in school. People know that if you've had a disease —"
Miller-Meeks, also a physician, nodded in agreement and quipped, “It wasn't until I came to Congress that I found out infection-acquired immunity was a novel concept.”
“Yeah, I guess we knew about it since 430 B.C. — the Athenian plague — until 2020. And then we didn't know about it for three years, and now we know about it again .”
It would be nice if our three years of vaccine idiocy would come to an end. But those who amass power — in government or media — rarely relinquish it. And so, the pandemic, the vaccines, masks, the unscientific beliefs, are likely to last longer than the coronavirus that first made it here from China in 2019, likely from a lab.
Colbert is ridiculous. I don’t think I ever saw him until he did the shilly, cringe-worthy Vaccine Dance and that was only on sites mocking it.
It is a giant leap to call Stephen Colbert a comic. He is a political propagandist and he has been ever since he stopped playing a gay high school teacher in STRANGERS WITH CANDY.
It is shameful that the Obama/Soros administration is preventing the world's best tennis player from coming to America - but not surprising.
