A Sneak Peek at Trump's Superpower
In Honor of One Year Anniversary of President Donald J. Trump, 47
As we look forward to our nation’s 250th birthday, and to mark President Trump’s first year as POTUS 47, I wanted to share an excerpt from my new book, Trump’s Superpower: A Historical Novel About the Founding Fathers & One Founding Mother.
In the book, I bring these founders down from Heaven to participate in a re-enactment of the nation’s birth 250 years ago. They have many amusing encounters with 21st century Americans — Ben Franklin is arrested for misgendering a man, George Washington gets his teeth fixed and Will Lee, Washington’s slave and valet, discovers the world of online commentary and becomes a social media sensation.
But the larger theme is an ongoing conversation between them about whether today’s America is what they had hoped to leave us. In this conversation, it becomes clear they believe Donald J. Trump is standing on their shoulders, embracing their words and principles, in an effort to rescue the nation’s sovereignty from Marxist ideologues.
I am a former journalist, with a PhD in history, who writes Substack’s Make Orwell Fiction Again, to track tyranny in medicine and politics. I recently wrote about how the Left is trashing the founders. I wrote Trump’s Superpower to rebut the critics, to reflect the values of of the American First movement. A lot of books will be published this year about the 250th birthday. This one is written for, by and about MAGA.
And now, here’s an excerpt.
Then, after Vice President J.D. Vance and his wife Usha joined them on the dance floor, Alexander Hamilton made his move. Boldly, he tapped on President Trump’s shoulder and asked to dance with Melania. Trump said, “Hell no.” After slinking back to their table, Thomas Jefferson greeted him with a smile.
“It seems your pride is always defeating you,” said Tom.
“I suppose you are right. But I’d rather die trying to do something bold than die wondering if I could have.”
“A fitting epitaph for your grave.”
“Oh, I think I like better the actual marble tomb erected at the Trinity Church in the financial district of lower Manhattan. Among other things, it calls me a “patriot of incorruptible integrity.”
“And yet what most know you for now is the rap music in that play.”
Alex smiled. “Do you know my favorite lyric? ‘History has its eyes on me.’ I suppose that’s how we all felt, the eyes of history on us.”
Tom nodded. “It appears this generation feels that way as well.”
Just then an usher came up and tapped Alex on his shoulder.
“The First Lady has agreed to dance with you,” he said.
Alex nearly jumped from his seat, and reached the stage just as Trump was relinquishing his wife.
“Be more careful than you were with Burr,” said a smiling Trump. “I’m a good shot too.”
The band played the title song from Hamilton as Alex bravely took Melania in his dancing arms. He looked like, well, like he had died and gone to heaven. Except that in contemplating the first lady’s beauty, and the intoxication of being in its proximity, Alex had forgotten to calculate Melania’s height. He was 5’7”. She was 5’11’’. In addition, she was wearing heels, with the result that when Alex reached for her waist, he found himself staring directly into her bosom. He jerked his head upward to meet her eyes, a position that only emphasized the dilemma posed by his stature.
“So how was it?” asked Tom when Alex returned to their table.
“It was like heaven, and she told me a secret.”
“And?”
“I never reveal a woman’s confidences.”
